A well-maintained instrument looks better, sounds better, and is easier to play. A bagpipe is most efficient when it’s hemped properly, reeds are set correctly, and aging components have been refreshed. We offer a range of bagpipe services, from bag installations to a complete tune-up.

We have the expertise, experience, and tools to perform all types of bagpipe maintenance, and our pride of workmanship shows in the results. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try a sheepskin bag, but were daunted by the tie-in, or maybe you’d like to re-hemp your pipes, but just don’t have the time. In either case, we can lend a hand.

Schedule a Bagpipe Service

Our menu of services offers prices and detailed descriptions of our standard services. To arrange for services, call 1-800-931-5010 or enter your request below. We’ll send you a Service Authorization form. The Service Authorization is the essential part of the process, allowing us to anticipate your pipes, to confirm services/purchases/special request with you, and to schedule time. The form should then be shipped along with your pipes or the stocks, depending on the service requested. We are not responsible for instruments shipped without prior authorization. Services shipped without authorization will be returned to the customer.

Please ship your pipes with great care. Wrap drones individually in bubble wrap, even inside the case. For all services, including Free Diagnostic, the Return Shipping Charge is $30. This covers shipping of other Highland Wear and Piping products purchased at the same time. The pipes will be shipped with Signature Required.

Turnaround Time

In most cases services can be completed within 15 business days. You can help by packing pipes with care and removing extra items from the case. As soon as the service has been completed, we will send your instrument back to you. A signature will be required for delivery.

Shipping

Shipping is the responsibility of the customer both ways. We recommend that you ship with USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Be sure to use a trackable service, to insure the package appropriately, and to pack everything with care. Ship in a case, if possible. Wrap individual drones in bubble wrap to prevent chips and secure the instrument. The contents are your responsibility until safely received here. We will ship with the same considerations when returning your instrument. Please remove personal items from the case. The domestic (U.S.) return shipping charge for any service(s) is $30, but this also covers shipping on other bagpipe or Highland Wear products you purchase at the same time.

Other Services

Call or email if you require a bagpipe maintenance service not specifically listed. We can often accommodate requests. We do not do wood repairs or similar refurbishment, but we can usually direct you toward those services.

Disclaimer

Services are only effective on instruments that are complete and structurally sound. Please only schedule services on instruments with all their parts. If you have a damaged instrument, a very old or fragile instrument, or a Middle Eastern instrument, call and we can discuss the best course of action with you.
