This is a beautiful wood chanter, in look and tone. The top of the chanter is Blackwood to match the bottom; only the mouthpiece is visibly Poly. The wonderful part is that the wood top is expertly lined with Polypenco to shield the wood from contact with moisture. Blackwood makes up the substance of the top; the plastic lining tube is so thin and precisely fitted, you can hardly tell it's there. This means you can have the look of a complete wood practice chanter, without concerns about cracking.
