A perfectionist and innovator, Xavier Boderiou changed the tongues and tweaked the reed body to create an enhanced balance between the bass and tenors, a stable bass, and better performance across pipe brands. The result is a reliable, resonant, and full drone sound that we love. Redwood reeds get their color from Padouk wood. The carbon fiber bass tongue and glass fiber tenors produce a bass-forward sound with well balanced tenor drones. Normal moisture issues will be well managed by the absorbent natural bodies.
